I logged into my Patreon and found that I still have patrons. I'm floored, humbled, and slightly ashamed. What is the point of having a Patreon page if I'm not doing anything? I'm unsure if I should close it or just let it be. Writing creatively has become so distant to me right now. I'm consumed with work and other responsibilities. But that shouldn't be an excuse if you love writing, right? This is a bit of a self-reflection for me more than a simple hello. I just miss my readers and what I used to be passionate about. I hope and pray to find my way back. I haven’t been writing anything for last month because well, I kinda accidentally found myself a job. Eeek! I know, I was shocked too that. I thought I was going to spend all day writing my books but now I have to get back to the office life. But the pay is better. 🥲

I have talked about finishing my latest book 'Hades' in the previous post. But now I'm going to give you a small detail of how I decided to write this story.  Well, normally my mind couldn't keep still, so it always wanders around looking for new story ideas. I have always been fascinated by the Greek mythology. It's full of wonders and surprising twists. Every tale has its own consequences. Like the story of Persephone being kidnapped to the Underworld and in turn caused the changes of the seasons.  But one thing that I wish I could read more is powerful women. Athena and Artemis are two goddesses that I just so idolize (I mean who wouldn't want to run wild and free or just born invincible?), but they don't have any love life. Then I was like 'why don't I recreate the myth and add a new twist into it?" that's how the story Hades was born. But why Hades? That's also another question.   ROTA and DOTN are originally one story, but I split it into two books. It's probably the longest work I've ever written. I loved everything about it. The bad and the good. I'm grateful for my earlier readers who kept encouraging me to write. Honestly, sometimes I'm still surprised when readers tell DOTN is their favorite of all my works. I don't know what else to say. At last, I made myself join the famous writing movement along with other writers around the world. It's the National Novel Writing Month, AKA NaNoWriMo. It's basically a challenge to encourage any writer, from all levels and countries to write their novel-worthy ideas into words non-stop for 30 days until they reach 50,000 words, which is roughly 200 pages novel length. I won the challenge. When you win it, you get the badges and a certificate to congratulate you on your achievement. And you can use it as a foundation to your writing habit, because you have written 1,600 words a day and every day for a month. If you're a writer, you already know that writing can be easy and can be very hard. It's time consuming to think of each sentence to put down. You encounter a lot of obstacles like self-doubt and procrastination, distractions and daily responsibilities. So this challenge is quite a solid one. My advice is to be prepared. I'm still relatively new to the idea of being an indie author. But it's not that difficult once you stick with the problem long enough. Who knew a novella was also hard to write? Well...it's not particularly hard to write, it's just that I had never written a short book. Hades is a novella, so it's different for me. Beside, it's my first time writing in 3rd person point of view. Almost all of my books are written in 1st person. I found it interesting and a bit easier to write in 3rd person, and now I know why a lot of professional writers argue that 3rd person is more effective to write. But I'm still learning. First off, I'm going to let you know that I'm a LGBT writer. I never thought that one day I would be writing stories. I just started writing when I was seventeen, and I did it in a dare, which required me to write a whole book about vampires. Yeah I know. But then out of boredom, I set up a profile on a writing platform known as Wattapd.com, which enabled me to write my first lesbian story under the title 'The Romanov Princess', which accumulated 3.7 million reads.It has become one of the most read books in its category. At first, I thought I only wrote some pervy stuff for fun but then I was surprised that people actually loved my stuff, and I have been writing ever since.
